Police appeal for witnesses after Preesall collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Preesall.

It happened today, (Friday 3rd June) at around 1.50pm on Park Lane, near to the Saracens Head pub and involved a Ford Fiesta, a Nissan Sunny and a Mazda 626.

The male driver of the Nissan had to be cut free by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and he was air lifted to the Royal Preston Hospital suffering from serious leg injuries.

A passenger from the Fiesta also had to be cut free and she was taken to the Blackpool Victoria Hospital suffering from chest injuries.

The road remains closed whilst accident investigators carry out their work.

Senior Investigating Officer, Sergeant Dave Hogarth from the Road Policing Unit said, “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision to come forward and contact police.

“The road had to be closed in order to allow expert investigators to carry out their work which will assist us in establishing what happened. Any information about the collision will be helpful and I would ask witnesses to get in touch.”
