Appeal after Lancaster man assaulted in Blackpool 'road rage' incident

Thursday, 8 September 2011

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted during a ‘road rage’ incident in Blackpool.

Around 4.45pm on Friday 26th August, a silver VW Golf had stopped at the traffic lights on Poulton Road when a Red Ford Orion stopped a few cars behind.

The driver and passenger of the Orion, both men, got out of their vehicle and walked up to the Golf before punching the male driver, a 31-year-old Lancaster man, through the open driver’s window.

The man suffered two black eyes and a possible broken nose.

“This was a nasty incident, possibly provoked by an incident on the road a short time earlier, and I would urge anybody who witnessed what happened to contact police," urged PC Iain Norton.

“It would have been a busy time of day and I’m sure somebody would have seen something so please do get in touch.”

• Anybody with any information is asked to contact police on 08451 25 35 45 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
