Cannabis seized in Lancaster searches

Cannabis with an estimated street value of £500 and hundreds of pounds in cash was seized by police in Lancaster yesterday (7th September).

A man was searched on Westbourne Road and cannabis – some of which police suspect had been prepared ready for dealing – and cash were seized. A subsequent search of a flat on the same street led to the seizure of more cannabis.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply. He has been released on police bail until 7th November, pending further inquiries.

Lancaster Sgt James Edmonds said: “We are committed to taking action against those who we suspect to be involved with illegal drugs.

“I would urge residents to work with us and report any suspicious activity.”
