Lancaster Traffic woes after lorry breakdown

Traffic is being re-routed by police after a lorry broke down at the traffic lights at the top of Thurnham Street at around 8.30am this morning, blocking the road between White Cross and the A6 Poynter Roundabout.

The lorry has broken down by the hospital so traffic coming round the one-way system cannot exit Lancaster to the south. Traffic is queuing all round the one way system and back towards the M6 J34, and also affecting traffic as far out as Skerton.

Cars and small vehicles are being diverted via George Street and Quarry Road, but larger vehicles are having to wait in the queue.
