Police alert for forged bank notes in Lancaster

Police have released CCTV images of two suspects they want to trace following the use of fake bank notes in a shop in Lancaster.

The two men entered a small retail store in Market Street, Lancaster, under the guise of prospective customers on two occasions between 3.00 and 5.00pm on Tuesday 22nd May.

One of the men acted as a lookout while the other made a small purchase from the counter with a note which later turned out to be fraudulent.

The offenders are not known to the store manager and may not be local to the area. Anyone who recognises the offenders or who has any information on the incident should contact police by calling 101 or alternatively, information can be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.

No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.

Wow for once we have decent CCTV images. How come a small shop can have such good quality CCTV yet banks etc can't?
